The Research Center is home to research and protecting biological resources in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. BRQTP offers a broad range of biological and resources basic research topics using the analytical tools of ecology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, and chemical biology. The research interests of the faculty include the distribution, dynamic change and efficient utilization of biological resources in plateau; the criterion and standardization of Tibetan materia medica; Quality control and safety evaluation of Traditional Tibetan Medicine; and development of new products and drugs from characteristic biological resources of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Our faculty is deeply engaged in technology development specializing in new methods for plateau biological resources and Traditional Tibetan Medicine.
The Research Center is composed of three parts: The Research Center of Modernization for Tibetan Medicine (CAS, founded in 1999); Qinghai key Laboratory of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Biological Resources (the Key Laboratory of Qinghai Province, founded in 2006); the Engineering Research Center of Characteristic Biological Resources of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (founded in 2008).
